Jason Gruenbaum is Vice President, Acquisitions at Hackman Capital. Jason is responsible for originating, underwriting, and structuring potential investment opportunities for Hackman Capital. Since joining Hackman Capital in 2008, Jason has been involved in the acquisition and asset management of numerous transactions and existing investments.
Prior to joining Hackman Capital, Jason worked in Merrill Lynch's Investment Banking Group in Los Angeles. While at Merrill Lynch, his responsibilities included analyzing the stability, risks and growth opportunities of businesses; performing valuations of companies; creating detailed financial models and presentations; and assessing the effects of multiple operating scenarios and capital structure alternatives on equity and debt returns. His efforts were primarily focused on mergers and acquisitions and leveraged buyouts across multiple industries, having also worked extensively on the initial public offering of Grand Canyon Education, Inc. (NASDAQ: LOPE).
Jason graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Finance, Accounting and Economics from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. He earned a J.D. with a focus on Corporate and Real Estate Transactions from the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California where he also joined the staff of the Real Estate Department to assist in writing the curriculum and performing research. Jason currently resides on the Boards of several non-profit organizations in Los Angeles.
