David joined Hackman Capital Partners in 2020 and oversees Accounting, Financial Reporting and Tax. In this role, David and his team are responsible for accounting, financial reporting and tax for all company-managed properties and funds and for delivery of financial information to investors, capital partners, lenders and internal management. His group also supervises third- party fund administrators, accounting firms, valuation firms and property managers.
Prior to joining Hackman, David was a Managing Director of Accounting and Operations at Oaktree Capital Management, where he was responsible for accounting and financial reporting for the Private Equity, Real Assets (Infrastructure Investing) and Private and Alternative Credit investment strategies. During his twelve year tenure at Oaktree, David was involved in all aspects of fund accounting and operations, including profitability analysis, marketing support and investor operational due diligence, internal controls and process improvement, accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury and liquidity management, and project management. David was also responsible for Oaktree’s firm-wide Accounts Payable and Fund Expense allocation process and governance. Prior to Oaktree, David worked for over thirteen years in public accounting where he delivered assurance services to clients in the financial services industry, first at Arthur Andersen LLP and then at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he was a senior manager. David received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting (summa cum laude) from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is a Certified Public Accountant.
