Jason joined Hackman Capital Partners in 2020 and oversees real estate acquisitions in the Firm’s Studio Media Platform. Jason helps execute and coordinate the Firm’s acquisition, disposition, joint venture, financing, asset management and development investments. He also advises on the direction of the Firm’s overall real estate investments and strategic objectives and leads the Firm into new asset classes and platforms. Jason is a member of the firm’s Executive Management Committee and Investment Committee.
Prior to joining the Firm, Jason was a Principal and 14-year veteran of the Real Estate group at MSD Partners, the investment advisor formed by MSD Capital, the family office of Michael Dell. In that role, he oversaw the firm’s investments in mixed-use properties and multi-family and led the strategic initiative to acquire and develop a portfolio of trophy properties in Austin and Dallas, Texas. He was responsible for identifying and structuring joint ventures with best-in-class operating and development partners, sourcing and managing acquisitions of all commercial real estate asset classes, including operating assets such as hotels, asset management, and managing and executing financings and loan restructurings. Prior to MSD Partners, Jason served as a Manager in the Real Estate Finance group at AIG SunAmerica where he was responsible for new originations in the Western United States.
Jason received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
